Hawaiian Party Almost Gets Snowed Out
Friday we continue our search for the “go to” fish fry in the area. We went to Tracks in the Riverwest area. The fish fry was good and very reasonably priced. J and I had a couple beers at Tracks with our fish fry. After our fish we headed home, watched a movie and called it a night.
This weekend we were expecting a huge snow storm but it was supposed to occur on Saturday night. Saturday morning we woke up to six inches of wet now. I went out and broke my back to clear the wet stuff. Snow or snow we had a party at Kondo’s and the show must go on. Not only was it a party but it was a Hawaiian themed party that was taking place during a blizzard warning. We went to Kondo’s in our Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts. We spent the night partying the night away. The weather was pretty nasty but the downtown area was spared the weather they had predicted. It was still nasty because we got three inches of an ugly ice snow mix, but it wasn’t as bad as the ten inches they got to the west. We tried to get a cab from Kondo’s but it was impossible. I got through and then promptly hung up. Miraculously J got through and got a cab. When the cab arrived we all ran and jumped in because this cab was like gold. Todd, Steph and I were in the cab waiting for J to show up and get in. While we were waiting we turned the cab around. In the process of doing this we ran into this crazy dude standing in the middle of the intersection with no coat on in some nasty weather. He refused to move and was yelling at us so we turned around before him. When we got back we were still waiting for J and didn’t know where she was. While we were waiting the crazy dude had come to our cab and was pounding on the window spouting off some gibberish. The cabbie told him to get away but he proceeded to crawl underneath the cab. The cabbie yelled at him and tried to get him out from underneath the cab. I just wanted to get going and was fed up with this dude so I got out of the cab and was going to pull out from underneath. By the time I got to the other side of the cab he was already out and walking away. While he was walking away all 5’4” of Steph got out of the cab too and was bitching at this guy. She got in his grill and gave the guy a shove and he went flying like a wet noodle. We told the dude to shove off and we didn’t have a problem with him again. We got back in the cab, confused at what just happened. Finally J showed up and lost her phone in the last three minutes we weren’t with her. We were all together though so we told the cabbie to step on it to get us out of this mess. We made it home safely. We made a pizza and went to bed. J got her phone the next day from someone who somehow found it in the snow. What a series of events that was.
